Why her? That’s what Mai had been wondering about all the way up until they arrived to one of the prettiest private beaches they had found around the town. She, not her sister but she, would have to model for some bathing suits that would be in ‘vogue’ this summer and her mother had wanted most likely her for the modeling for some reasons she ignored and wasn’t sure she wanted to know about. She sighed, feeling rather nervous only at the idea on stepping onto the beach’s sand. Why her? She feared water and disliked going to beaches, all she would do would be in the lines of freaking out and trying to find 1001 excuses to not pause in the water or to just go away. If only Mao was there to cover her up or something!
Weren’t twins inseparable? Never leaving each other’s side? What a traitor she was! She played with her hands nervously and chewed the inside of her mouth nervously, becoming whiter whenever they got closer to where they were heading at and her body froze, except for her heart that was beating quickly as she arrived to the doom of the beach it would be. If only there was a way for her to just run away! But she couldn’t their limo was too fast for her to just hop out of the car and well, her mother would just force her back in if she ever tried to do anything of the sort.
Why was her mother even bothering herself to join her while modeling? She thought she had stuff to do with her magazine and all… Was it to support her emotionally? She wondered. She glanced quickly at her mother, seeing her talking on her cell phone to some people she didn’t know about, as usual and decided to just look out of the window, seeing they arrive, she crisped her hands to the bench of the limo, not wanting to get out.
The door opened to let them walk out and her mother turned her cell phone off, getting off it first before glancing down at her own daughter. “Come on, it won’t be that bad, I promise!” She told her with a reassuring smile. Giving up on trying to arguing about how many tsunamis that could happen to them if they stood there, she grabbed her beach bag and walked out of the limo as well slowly following her mother to the spot where there were people already there, setting the place where the photo shoots would be happening. She really didn’t feel good and all she wanted to do at the right moment, was to run away from this hell. Why wasn’t Mao there while she needed her the most?!
“I’ll also present you to your modeling companion!” Suzume added cheerfully waving at a few people she knew and went towards them, to have a chat. Mai on the other hand , tried to stay as far away as she could from the water and plopped down on the sand, wanting to have this horrible day done already so she could go somewhere where there wasn’t water near by.

Of all the days his mother had to take him out, it had to be one of the beach. Now he loved the beach and all, but this time, he wasn't going there for fun. Kaito felt himself paling slightly as he formed his hands into balls of fist. He was going there to model, and modeling at the beach meant trunks which would lead to no shirt. He wasn't afraid of showing his body off. It was because he had a dragon tattoo on his back that his mother didn't know. If she was surely to find out, then he would never live to see the daylight again.
A shiver ran down his spine as he shuddered at the imagination. His mom could be pretty scary when she wanted to be. Speaking of his mother, she was sitting right next to him, staring at him. "Honey. Are you okay? You seem to be white." Kaito nodded with a fake smile. Of course he wasn't okay. Who would be okay, knowing that they're going to be send to their death in a matter of hours. He hadn't noticed himself gripping onto the car tightly to see his knuckles turning white. Least not until his mother placed a hand on top of his.
Well, at least they were almost there. Still, the anxiety was eating at him, and Kaito couldn't stand it any longer. "Driver, pull over. I want to walk from here." The driver complied, and he felt his mother's gaze resting on him. He didn't have to look to see her facial expression. She was puzzled, and he knew it. "Mother... I'm going to walk the rest of the way. I won't run or anything since I already promised you that I was going to do this for your sake. I just need to calm myself." That should be a plausible excuse for his mother. Thankfully, she accepted it and allowed him to leave the car.
The moment he closed the car door behind him, Kaito felt himself relaxing. Well, least no one was going to bother him with questions anymore. He began to walk leisurely, taking slow steps just so he could spare more time living. He felt the sand sinking on his flip flops as he took a step. The warmth was comforting, and he took off his flip flops so he could feel the soft, smooth sand on his feet. How refreshing. The sense in the air with salt water as well. The ocean was like a second home, the sands providing the gentle soothing. The beach was a place for him to simply escape from everything.
He had done it before. Escaping to the beach. Kaito had often gone out with his driver and took many strolls in the calm atmosphere at evening, when no one was really around. With the sun setting, the scenery was quite nice. Nice enough that he took pictures or took something to eat as he watched the sunset and waited till darkness devour the sky.
The voices of people cut through his train of thoughts as Kaito found himself nearing the photoshoot location. Oh jeez, how could time go by so fast? His mother beckoned him over, so he dragged his feet over there. A soft sigh escaped his lips as he walked, deliberately taking small steps. Until his mother got impatient. Of course, she made it obvious to him through signs of biting her lips and raising an eyebrow. Picking up his pace, Kaito found himself in the group of people.
"Here is Mrs. De Luca, the mother of your modeling companion." His mother informed him with a bright smile. She had a mischievous glint in her eyes, one that was planning something. However, Kaito didn't take note of it, and he bowed in respect. "Ma'am, it's a pleasure to meet you. You've probably been informed already, but I am Takeno Kaito." Just as his mother would've expected, he was respectful and considerate.

Doomed, she was completely doomed. Seeing how the area was set, she knew that she would have to be in the water one day or an other, or should I say, some time during this day. She didn’t want to do any of this at all, but she had no choices, no one would be there to back her up this time and she’d have to face this unwanted situation. She sighed and decided to join the group as well, seeing her mother waved at her, she seemed to be talking to people.
"Here is Mrs. De Luca, the mother of your modeling companion." The twin’s mother smiled warmly at Kaito, glad that his mother could’ve brought him, having that same matching glint as his mother’s a mall smirk formed onto her lips, that was barely noticeable as she noticed that Mai was coming over. "Ma'am, it's a pleasure to meet you. You've probably been informed already, but I am Takeno Kaito." Suzume nodded at the boy. “It is a pleasure to meet you too darling…” she began and waited until Mai was close enough for her to hear, and dragged her daughter to where they were. “Here is Mai, you’re modeling companion.” she mused happily.
Mai blinked a couple of time, wait, she had to model with a guy?!?! Her mother didn’t really say that right? She felt her cheeks growing pink at this and became quickly embarrassed. Now she had two things to worry about! The water and well, him. She stared at him for a few more moments, remembering he was attending the same school as her and her twin. Although, she wasn’t that sure of it, ah well, anyways, it wasn’t that much of a big deal and she could worry less about it for now.
She glanced at the water, gulping a little at the though and returned her gaze to the mother and the boy, bowing slightly. “It is nice to meet you both.” she said with a small and soft voice that could be barely heard-she was rather intimidated by all what was happening around her at the moment, that and she was incredibly and hopelessly nervous, especially now that she knew she would be modeling with someone like him…a boy!
She needed to find some way to flee this place! She needed an excuse to be back by herself, just like she was before, away from the water but unfortunately, before she could her mother dragged her a few sets of bikinis that she’d have to wear. “Sweety, go change yourself, we’ll be starting soon.” she said.
Great! For once, she would be happy to wear such revealing clothes! She smiled and quickly nodded, preferring to keep it quiet and ran towards the nearest dressing room so she could try to relax a little, while changing herself. [/blockquote] [/blockquote]

“Here is Mai, you’re modeling companion.”
Kaito just merely stared at his mother. She never said anything about modeling with a female. He paled slightly, wondering how he would act around the girl. He turned around to face the girl, who looked really familiar to him. Oh right, she attended Ouran. With a slight flushed face, Kaito stared down at the sand, not knowing what to say or do.
“It is nice to meet you both.” All he did was nod. Stupid him for just standing there without saying anything back. But still, he didn't know what to do, or how to react. His brother was a better person at this than he was. More so, he hadn't known that Mai was a model. Cut that thought. He knew, but he never paid close attention since he never imagined that she was working for his mother as well.
"Honey, you should go change as well." His mother waved off to a set of trunks, in which he just stared at for a few minutes. Soon, she shoved him toward the direction, and Kaito numbly walked over, searching through the pile as his mind began to wonder how he was going to get out of this situation. He should just call the sick card and leave, but... he didn't want to just leave his companion alone. That would suck for her that suddenly, her partner bailed out on her.
He picked up a trunks of black and red before going to a nearby dressing room. Pulling the curtains, Kaito slowly took his time in changing to the trunks. They had a nice touch to him and would certainly match the dragon on his back, but it doesn't mean he's going to have it easy. Keeping his shirt on, the only two possibilities that he clung onto were leaving his shirt on while modeling, or someone to appeal to his mother. He hoped it was the former, although he knew it would be no luck.
Hesitantly, Kaito walked out and strolled slowly to the photo shoot setup. Might as well linger there and get a good scene of everything before he had to go do the death wish. With a soft smile, he breathed, his body relaxing to the sounds of waves and the smell of the salty air. Everything was so refreshing; he found himself lost within the moment. "Just the thing I need for comfort."

Mai closed her eyes slightly once she was in the dressing room, glad that no one would see her spazz for a moment. She took deep breath ,trying to calm down. Why did they pick her all over the people they could find for modeling for bikinis? She considered herself as the worse for those kind of clothing for mainly three reasons. First: She had a terrible lack of confidence, Second: she feared water to death and Third: she was the clumsiest girl you could find on earth so that would mean that she expected herself from tripping one day or an other.
She grabbed the first bikini she would have to try out, a white one with red flowers. Ah, it was a pretty one and not too sexy. She was glad that her mother considered her shyness about exposing her body to everyone especially in a mag. She wondered about who created it, was it an other creation of Hitachiin’s twins’ mother? She wondered, who knows. This woman had an incredible talent when it came to clothes creations. She smiled at the thought and opened back her eyes before starting to undress herself, taking out that light sundress she was wearing for the occasion- mostly because her mother wanted her to wear this one though.
She had been questioning herself about why her mom would want her to wear something like that except for the fact that those kind of dresses were made to go to the beach with. She sighed shaking her head having a slight idea that it was because of her ‘modeling companion’, like the two women used to say. Alright, stop getting lost in your thoughts and dress up… she thought quickly dressing up into the bikini. Once it was set, she wore matching sandals that came along and a matching hat.
She slowly walked out, trying not to trip in the sand, as she was ready and made her way back as slowly as possible. Please, the only thing she wanted was not to start modeling in the water. She wished so much her sister could take her place at the right moment. She wanted to argue about it but she knew it would be useless. Her mother and probably her companion’s mother would end up being too convincing and have her do anything they wanted in the end.
She sighed at the thought and looked down before raising her gaze back up as she approached to the gathering of people and her mother who apparently noticed her too. “Awe! You’re so cute with that bikini! Those colors suit you well darling!” exclaimed the woman, clapping her hands together with satisfaction. “Now where is your companion?” she asked looking around only to make Mai more nervous than she already was.

"You are an absolute darlin'," Kai's mother responded with a smile. She never saw anyone cuter than her friend's daughter, Mai. An absolute match for her son as well. "I'll say... Kai's already near the waters, waiting for us. Such an eager boy and an obedient one too."
Kai stood by the ocean, the wind blowing slightly at his face. It felt so good, so calm that he just can't seem to think about anything horrible. Unfortunately, he heard the director screaming for the two models to gather at the water. It was too fast, but it wasn't something he could control. Grudgingly, he walked to the ocean, standing by the water. He still hoped that he would be able to keep his shirt, but it was of no use.
"Kaito, would you take off your shirt? We need your entire body figure," the director requested. With a frown, Kai hesitated, his arms frozen in spot. He heard a guy sigh, and someone approaching him. Suddenly, hands were on his shirt, yanking it off. Before he could react, the shirt was completely off of him, the tattoo standing out from his back. Three. Two. One.
"TAKENO KAITO!" Wow, his mom could really scream across and still be heard. With a nervous smile, Kai walked out to the ocean, knowing that his mother wouldn't dare come into the waters to get him. "Surprise... Mom?" he stuttered nervously, not wanting to get near her wrath of doom. Fortunately, the director came to talk to his mother.
Few minutes later, he saw her entire personality change, and soon, he heard her call to him sweetly, "Kai, you are simply brilliant. How did you know that it would attract more people? You need to tell me when you got that dragon mark on your back." Okay... that was just plain scary to him, seeing his mother change so fast. Not to mention, she actually now approves, which gave him an uneasy feeling. Either she was happy about the money and popularity involved, or she was going to kill him later. He hoped it was the former, despite how bad it would seem that his mother would seem to be 'using' him, although he knew that she wouldn't do such thing.
Well... he was somewhat wet, but Kai merely shrugged it off. Least he narrowly escaped Death, and he would have to thank the director later. Maybe even do him a favor, although it might consist of more modeling. With a fake smile on his face, he waited for Mai to come so they can just get the shoot over with.

"You are an absolute darlin'," Mai blushed lightly at that, not used to receive compliments. Well, whenever people told her some, she thought in the end that they were for Mao since she was the one who posed better than she did- that’s what she thought about at least. She didn’t go towards the water yet, she needed to gather her courage up, which she wondered about if she would ever manage to do so. She froze when her mother asked about her ‘modeling companion’ like they use to say. "I'll say... Kai's already near the waters, waiting for us. Such an eager boy and an obedient one too." She blinked and stared out the water. It seemed to have lots of waves today…only to make things worse yeah!
Mai could feel that her own legs, the traitors were beginning to tremble slightly as her mother began dragging her towards the water. Why did she have to do that?! She seriously wished that Mao could pop in and save the day or something, but it looked like this would never happen. Psh, anyways, people were never there when you need them and it looks like this applies to her twin as well.
She glanced at the ocean still, staring at Kaito blushing lightly as he took off his shirt; how could she seriously model with a boy?! She would just end up making things worse! She could feel it! She wished she would have never accept to do so…although, she got the slight feeling that her mother would force her anyways, even if she had ‘things to do’. She sighed at the thought but remained silent as the tattoo shocked Kaito’s mother at first- she was a bit surprise herself. She never thought that Kaito would be the kind of boy to have one. Then again, never judge a book by it’s cover.
“Come on Mai-chan, you won’t be in deep water, everything will be fine, there’s no need to be scared of it, everyone will run after you if an accident happens.” the last part of the sentence, shouldn’t have been said. ACCIDENT?!?!?!?! Thought Mai as she began breathing quickly. “A-a-a-accident?” She managed to blurt out her legs as hard as rock, planted in the sand. Her mother wasn’t able to drag her daughter in the water anymore. “Eh…I said that? ahah…I meant, hum…there won’t have any accident!” She said with an anime sweat drop as the photography team stared at both of them, eyebrows raised.
“The soonest you get in the water, the soonest you’ll get out, now go stand next Kaito!” She added managing to drag her towards the water. As soon as Mai stepped in it, she froze, unable to walk, making her mother sigh softly. Okay, now she would try to reach the boy…she slowly walked forward and after *hours* of slow walking, she made it to Kai, but stood as straight as a bar. “Darling, you need to relax for the pose!” Said her mother aloud.

Kai watched the events happening, seeing his companion struggle. Was it really that bad to be in the water for her? He merely stood there, listening to the conversation yet not saying a word. There was a sweat drop on his head as Mai came closer to him. "There won't be any accidents. I'll catch you if something happens," he muttered so only she could hear him. With a soft smile, he waited until she was right next to him.
Yet, she was stiff as a board. Placing his hands on her shoulders, Kai whispered to her ear, "Relax... nothing's going to happen, and I'll be standing here right next to you." He smiled down at her before looking back at the director. He seemed to be pleased at the sight, which made Kai want to drop his hands and just stand there like Mai. How could he forget that people were still around? Blushing slightly, he focused in on the waves, not letting any more obvious signs go off.
The director began to tell them what they need to pose, which Kai complied. Sometimes, it would involve turning his back to the camera, in which he could hear the sharp intake of breath from a direction, most likely his mother. But he ignored it. After a few snaps, he began to get comfortable, losing himself within his own mind. He began to think of what lies ahead in his future.
What would he do for a living? He could get the modeling job, connected by his mother, but... it seems a bit ridiculous. Maybe he should pursue something of culinary, although his dad would heavily reject the idea. He knew he wasn't going to inherit the casino or nightclub since that'll go all to Seiji. Well, there was still a few more years to go by.
Coming down to reality, Kai realized that the director wanted him to carry Mai. He felt himself shaking at the thought of that. What if he dropped her? Or more so, what if he did something stupid like trip? He stood there, motionless. He just couldn't do what they asked. It wasn't matter of strength; it was one where he knew something bad is going to come out of it. Or something that shouldn't be done in the first place.

"There won't be any accidents. I'll catch you if something happens," She blinked at his words and found herself blushing lightly but still remaining like a statue. She didn’t like this whole situation she was stuck in at all. It was a real pain in the neck! Why couldn’t just she get out? Why couldn’t they have that photo shoot in the sand instead of water? She gulped thinking that she would have to take some poses that might possibly be close to him.
When he placed his hands onto her shoulders, it didn’t help either; it made her startle at first and go even more nervous than she was already. Was that a pose? "Relax... nothing's going to happen, and I'll be standing here right next to you." Her breathing became heavy as the time passed by and tried to calm herself down. Why was he being so nice to her? She thought he would just stare at her oddly and well, find her fear of water funny since she acted uncommonly when she was in it.
She sighed and ended up doing a few poses, still looking tensed up though, and this made her mom sigh as well. Then it had to happen, they were supposed to have a pose, where Kai would be carrying her. Her heart stopped beating for a minutes and her face became flush red. That meant she would have to actually really be close to him! She couldn’t do that. She became so nervous, she didn’t know what to do anymore between running away from this hell or just do as they wished.
It seemed that her modeling companion wasn’t willing to take that pose either. She didn’t put the blame on her weight or anything. She understood that he was as nervous as she was but when she heard her mom tell her to come closer to him, she slowly lifted her foot to begin to walk but accidentally stepped onto a shell. As she did, she yelped and panicked as her head would be soon face first into the water.
She managed to turn herself around, not wanting to drown, but what she only realize in the end was that one of her hands was clinging onto his arm, dragging him along with her. All happened so fast, but at the same time so slow, that she didn’t know what was happening to her after water splashed because of her.
